Our Strategic Priorities

Workforce Readiness and Educational Achievement

  • Promote community’s need for postsecondary credentials to secure living wage jobs.
  • Support initiatives that increase post-secondary completion and credential attainment.
  • Improve awareness and utilization of career pathways and their funding opportunities.
  • Address barriers to workforce participation.
  • Support mental health and wellness initiatives for schools and workforce.

Vitality in City Centers

  • Support efforts to enhance public’s perception and brand of city and town centers.
  • Encourage collaboration of organizations impacting revitalization efforts.
  • Support efforts to attract jobs and corporate offices.
  • Support or create initiatives that diversify housing stock, expand homeownership, and attract investment
  • Attract/support catalytic projects.
  • Engage in shaping the City’s Comprehensive Plan (10 year).

Community Infrastructure

  • Foster collaboration to enhance public utility infrastructure.
  • Support capital funding to address school capacity and deferred maintenance.
  • Recommend and support transportation and transit improvements in the region.
  • Improve housing opportunities.
  • Enhance our Entrepreneurial Infrastructure and ecosystem.
  • Support, connect, and grow arts and tourism infrastructure.

Catalytic Collaborations

  • Facilitate collaboration across business, government, and nonprofit sectors.
  • Support service coordination of nonprofit organizations and initiatives that improve the health of our community.
  • Emphasize the value of access, opportunity, and success for all voices in our community.
  • Support economic development efforts in our county, municipalities, and region.
